About Evaporating Clouds
Local control. Less cloud. A home that’s yours.
Evaporating Clouds explores home automation built around local control. Follow along for practical projects, experiments, and lessons learned while reducing cloud dependencies and building a smarter home that stays yours.
A smarter home shouldn’t mean giving up control. I’m working toward home automation that runs locally, relies less on outside services, and works on my terms. Evaporating Clouds documents that journey—one device, integration, and automation at a time.
The setup
Home Assistant runs on a Proxmox server, talking to Zigbee and Z-Wave devices directly. Posts document what changes from here, and why.
